타블로 비방(Tableau Vivant)

살아 움직이는 그림을 뜻하는 타블로 비반트(Tableau Vivant)는 사진과 매체가 결합한 미디어 아트 작품형식이다. 장소성에 기반해서 사진이라는 찰나적 공간에 시간성을 중첩시킨다. 대형사진을 스크린과 프로시니엄 개념으로 수용하고, 프로젝션 맵핑 영상을 통해서 생명을 불어넣는다. 

The project’s title Tableau Vivant, means “living picture” is media art combines photography and videography. It based on the placeness, overlapping temporality in massive photographic image, using screen and accepting in the term of proscenium. With video projection mapping on the image, project gains new life.

이 작업은 장소성과 매체성, 공연성이라는 특징을 가지는데, 마치 무대 위의 배우, 시노그라피 등 펼쳐지는 모든 표현요소들을 연출하는 작업과 유사하다. 실제적인 혹은 무의식적인 기억의 자각을 통해 사유적 풍경을 그려나간다. 장소가 가지는 메시지는 작품의 의도와 더불어 재배치되면서 새로운 의미를 재생산한다.

Tableau Vivant’s process may similar to theatrical directing; project’s placeness, mediality, and theatricality can refer to directing actor or scenographing itself. It draws meditational landscape through awareness of conscious/unconscious memories. One place’s own message rearranges with the project’s purpose, and it makes another unexpected meaning.

Salto Mortale Series.

살토모탈레는 “죽음을 무릎 쓴 점프”, “목숨을 건 도약”을 뜻한다. 사진 촬영은 모두 서울 여의도에서 진행됐다. 여의도에는 고층건물이 많은 자본집약적인 작은 섬이다. 건물 위로 올라가는 사람들의 모습이 보인다. 살토 모탈레 시리즈에 등장하는 사람들은 모두 허공 위를 걷고 있다.

The word 'Salto Mortale' means "a jump with deadly risk", "takeoff for one's life." Taking all photographs are proceeded in Yeouido, Seoul. Yeouido is a small island that is located in Seoul; there are many skyscrapers and integration that is related to finances. We can see the people who elevates on the top of buildings. All the people who appears on the series of Salto Mortale are walking on the empty spaces.
