인공지능이 관객과 만나 예술에 관해 대화를 나누는 인터랙티브 미디어 아트, ‘I Question’.

‘I Question’ — an interactive media artwork where an artificial intelligence meets and converses with its audience about art.

RE:4WALLS에서 선보인 ‘I Question 2.0’은 2018년 우란문화재단 초연작을 한국과학창의재단의 지원으로 업그레이드한 버전입니다. 국립아시아문화전당의 초대형 미디어월(약 75m × 16m)을 무대로 인공지능과의 대화형 인터랙션을 확장했고, 시민들은 QR 코드로 접속해 AI의 질문 — “이 사진이 예술적으로 보이나요?” — 에 답하며 자신의 사진을 올립니다.

미디어월의 시각화는 관객들이 직접 올린 사진들로 이루어집니다. AI가 감상한 수천 장의 사진이 모자이크가 되어 광장의 밤을 채우고, 질문을 주고받는 과정에서 AI는 사진에 대한 자신만의 예술적 시각을 갖게 됩니다. 도시의 광장이 인공지능과 시민이 예술을 두고 대화하는 열린 전시장이 된 작업입니다.

‘I Question’ is an interactive media artwork in which an artificial intelligence meets and converses with its audience. The project began from a single question — ‘Can humans converse with AI about art?’ Since that first question, the AI has evolved by learning human answers. It poses questions with no fixed correct answer, offering a sense of what art might be. Audiences join the conversation via a QR code and post their own pictures, which become part of the work as a visualization of the images the AI has appreciated — leaving open the question of whether humans and machines can co-evolve.
